Now life, this life that I can see

Looking Away I look at the child, and I cry
Because I know that he will always be denied
He looks at me, and smiles, innocent, sweet, loving and compassionate
He smiles, not knowing the denial and lonliness that awaits him.
In a little while he will run away, because he will see something that makes him afraid.
Something that will make all the beauty in his world wither and die.
I want to prepare him, make him ready, comfort him when it happens.
But the evil thing has come from inside of me

When She is Near When she's near, I feel I must be in heaven
I am never so sure that there is a God, and He loves me
I feel as I could put heel to the raven,

Today, I will learn how to fly

An advertisement for yesterday hangs on the wall. It makes me think of all the times when yesterday promised, but didn't follow through. Is it a dream? I know that someday I will have to face up to reality. But, at least for a while, I can feel these wings slowly growing, and after a while, I'll have to hide them underneath my shirt... maybe they'll be flat, like those one's they show on tv... maybe then....


I'll spread my wings

and fly away

to somewhere no one knows me.
The warm sun on my face, and the breeze on my wings, its almost too good to feel it, and I can alost feel it...

I love my wings. They are parts of me that let me fly to somewhere else, and lift me above to where this life doesn't bother me. I love some other things
